Marcus Brune is new CFO of Wörwag
- On 1. April 2019
As of April 1, 2019, Marcus Brune will take over Hannes Wörwag´s duties as CFO (Chief Financial Officer). Hannes Wörwag is retiring from management for personal reasons, but remains with the company as a shareholder.
Brune has nearly 20 years of leadership experience in finance and controlling in manufacturing and processing companies. From 2011 until 2017, the executive from Oberhausen, Germany was CFO at Rockwood Lithium, the world’s leading manufacturer of lithium and lithium compounds. He most recently served on the board of directors and as vice president of corporate finance at Canadian start-up Critical Elements. After studying physics at the Technical University of Dortmund, the 51-year-old received his doctorate in materials science. Professionally, he decided early on for the world of numbers. His interest in coatings and chemistry, however, never waned. With the move to Wörwag, Brune has also decided to return to his professional roots. Above all, the future perspectives were a convincing argument for him.
“Wörwag has great potential. Because, with commitment, innovations are developed and promoted, and this will help us to grow,” says Brune.
