Economy meets ecology
Economical use of resources pays off for people and the environment alike
In all business decisions and implementation, the balance between economic and ecological reasons is a key criterion. Families live just a few kilometers from our laboratories and production facilities in Zuffenhausen and Renningen, where coatings and inks are manufactured. And they can do so without worrying. We pay sustained attention to this.
Many faces of environmental protection
Wörwag invests in environmental protection – at its sites abroad as well as at home in Zuffenhausen. We focus on the economical use of materials and energy. And we are happy to be measured against this. Since 2007, we have been subject to the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) eco-audit. The Eco-Management and Audit Scheme helps companies to improve their environmental performance. The environmental statement, which is mandatory under EMAS, serves to inform the public about the eco-balance and the measures taken to improve it.
Our environmental guidelines
An environmental management system helps us to comply with the environmental regulations that affect us. Employees are encouraged to avoid hazards to people and the environment and to comply with statutory and internal rules on occupational safety and environmental protection. Managers are required to identify, assess and minimize risks.
Our coatings are subject to the strictest quality controls throughout the entire production process. Wörwag’s environmental management is certified according to DIN EN ISO 14001 and validated according to EMAS III. In a regularly updated statement, we comment in detail on the goals and measures of our environmental policy. We also set out our corporate philosophy and our responsibility as a company there. As a member of the international “Responsible Care” initiative of the chemical industry, we are also working to continuously improve our environmental protection, health, and safety performance. In addition, we participate in regional and local campaigns.
